During the period known as the Harlem Renaissance, businesses in the Black community supported the community and people in the community patronized Black businesses. This enabled the community to grow at an extremly fast pace. While it was our only option the Black dollar was circulated in the community more than five times which gave the black business the needed cash flow to grow and expand. This is also what allowed the Black business to help maintain the progressive Black Community. In todays society the Black dollar circulates in the community less than ONCE. In order to get back to the strength of our community we must "Return to the Harlem Renaissance"! This is not a physical but a mental journey.
